Intro to BHSSP
School Sports Partnerships are at the hub of the Government’s strategy to enhance young people’s opportunities to participate in a wide range of sports as well as raising the standards of teaching and learning of PE and school sport, as part of the PE & Sport Strategy for Young People. The Blaby and Harborough SSP is made up of 54 schools (45 primary, 6 high schools and 3 upper schools), centred around the hubsite Countesthorpe Community College.
Within each school there is a staff member tasked with leading on developing PE and School Sport within their own school and family of schools. In secondary schools these are known as School Sports Co-ordinators (SSCos), and in primary schools as Primary Link Teachers (PLTs). These are funded through the School Sports Partnership.
