School Sports Partnerships are at the hub of the Government’s strategy to enhance young people’s opportunities to participate in a wide range of sports as well as raising the standards of teaching and learning of PE and school sport, as part of the PE & Sport Strategy for Young People.  To find out more about the Government’s Strategy and targets for young people’s participation in sport please click here…….(link to document SSP background)

The Blaby and Harborough SSP is made up of 54 schools (45 primary, 6 high schools and 3 upper schools), centred around the hubsite Countesthorpe Community College.

Within each school there is a staff member tasked with leading on developing PE and School Sport within their own school and family of schools.  In secondary schools these are known as School Sports Co-ordinators (SSCos), and in primary schools as Primary Link Teachers (PLTs).  These are funded through the School Sports Partnership.
