England Athletics have spaces available on the courses below that are aimed at qualified and trainee teachers, and those supporting the delivery of physical education in schools. These courses are being offered free of charge due to funding available from the Aviva Elevating Athletics Fund
The courses aim to impart the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to deliver enjoyable and engaging lessons that encourage maximum participation and increase the understanding, skills, fitness and enjoyment of children. They are based on the Aviva Elevating Athletics teaching resource. Courses last six hours, including both practical and theory, and demonstrate progression across age groups in generic and athletic-specific running, jumping and throwing activities.
Both the Certificate in Teaching Primary Athletics and the Certificate in Teaching Secondary Athletics are available. Further information on these courses is in the attached flyer – ignore the cost on the flyer as the course is now free.
